Meanwhile, a year later events align so that Hen does meet Buck in the park the next day - along with Eddie, Tommy, and little Bug. But their adult night did not go as planned, because Buck is on the phone with the police about a break-in at her place.

Evynn "Buck" Bradshaw's life has been a rollercoaster recently. She's had great highs like marrying the love of her life, Bradley Bradshaw, and he would be transferring to a base back in the United States sooner than they had anticipated. There were also deep lows like the 118 becoming a toxic work environment, and Bradley having to go back to Oceana for a few missions before officially transferring closer to home.
She would like to have the relationship with the 118 that she used to have, but had mostly given up on it. Really, all she wanted was her husband to come home. Her husband, whom nobody else in LA knows she has.

Margaret and Philip Buckley did not want to raise children well into their forties. That's why they had Maddie and Daniel when they did. While they did plan to have Evan, in the moment, they didn't think of how it would mess up the rest of their life plans. So, when Maddie left for college, they decided sending Evan to the Army and Navy Academy in California would be for the best. Little did they know that this was one of the best things they could do for their youngest child, because not long into his second semester, he ran into Admiral Tom "Iceman" Kazansky.
Now
Buck did not think he would ever go back to the Navy. Not after that last disastrous mission. Not after he found a new team and family in LA. Not after he started to put down roots. But Buck never thought someone would plant a bomb on a fire truck. He never thought he would be at ground zero of a tsunami. He never thought he would have to fight for his job or that others would become bitter and hateful about him trying to get back to work.
So when he gets a call from his Pops that he's needed down at Top Gun. Well, it's not like he's doing much with the 118 now, and it's not like he could say no to the COMPACFLT anyway...

From the moment they met, Mav knew Kazansky had a mouth on him. It isn't until they're both instructors at TOPGUN, though, that Mav learns just how brutal Ice can be.
One thing's for sure: Maverick's never bored, teaching alongside Iceman. He's just not sure he's going to survive the job unscathed, himself.

This isn't superhero au, just found family one with a lot of comic metaphors (that Maverick doesn't understand) because Jake and Bob are nerds in this.
