Wanting George is like being boiled alive. When he leaves right after sex, Max is miserable. When he stays and complains the entire night about Max’s pillows, his shower pressure, his massage skills, Max is miserable.
Now he’s not even letting Max fuck him and he’s still miserable.

Summary
Max stopped speaking halfway through an answer to Lewis because he realised he had clenched his jaw so hard it hurt. He knew exactly what that helplessness felt like. A mechanical failure robbed a driver differently than a crash or a mistake. There was nowhere to put the anger, no correction to make, no braking point to revisit. George, like all the rest of them, would only be left with the knowledge that his hands had done everything right and it still hadn’t mattered.
Max fixed a smile on his face anyway before he climbed up the third step. Champagne sprayed across his race suit while the hollow in his chest burned like a fireplace sucking all the oxygen out of a room.
George should’ve won today. Max knew it. The entire paddock knew it. And Max knew the twisting in his gut was nothing compared to the void George must have felt in his. He hadn’t seen George once since the chequered flag.

Summary
Max’s mind roared, and the thought was so loud and intrusive that George physically stiffened.
It’s freezing out here. Everyone looks like a corpse. Lando looks grey, I feel blue, but his lips are bright fucking red. They look so soft. Look at how they move when he talks. Why am I looking at his mouth? Fuck, I want to take my thumb and press it right against his bottom lip just to see if the colour changes. I want to bite it. Why do I want to bite him? What is wrong with me?
Or, a mind-reading fic set in the canon universe. George inherited his mother's quirk of mind-reading, and it was not helping that the only thought he could not block was Max's.

Summary
The chapel in the Las Vegas Grand Prix Paddock club has been there since the circuit was added to the calendar back in 2023. No one had used it, it was just more shit to the show the race itself was. One of the many reasons no one took this particular track seriously, or any of the ones hosted in the United Estates for that matter.
So when that journalist asked if any of them would get married that weekend, Max couldn't help but look at George and just... ask him to marry him right then and there, in the middle of the conference room. Even when they're supposedly sworn enemies.
Or,
When Max jokes about getting married to George at Vegas, and George, surprisingly, agrees.

“And, like – farming, right? How hard can it be? Take a seed, put it in some dirt, sprinkle some water and wait. Boom. Food. Done. And I’ve driven a tractor practically every weekend this year, it’s not that hard.”
Gemma pauses the video. She un-shares her screen. Her smiling face pops back up in the centre of Max’s monitor, gaze distinctly pointed.
Wait.
“That’s it?” Max hisses, incredulous. “Seriously? I’m getting cancelled over a joke about fucking farming?”
~~~~~
Max has had PR disasters before. This time, though, he’s made the mistake of pissing off some random British farmer with a loyal YouTube fanbase and a penchant for passive-aggressive callouts via X. And George Russell isn’t the type who’s easily appeased.
(Or: Max learns to drive a tractor, harvest wheat, and fall in love.)
Summary
George was used to finding a silver lining in shit situations, but retiring from his home race after putting it on pole didn’t leave him with much to work with.
George scrolled through the recommended feeds, eyes half-lidded and sticky with exhaustion. Then one headline caught him: FORMULA ONE SILVERSTONE REACTION.
Not exactly original, but the description below made him snort: “RIP GEORGE RUSSELL.”
RIP, indeed.
OR Max is a sim racing streamer and George is a driver and a fan.
Summary
Max just wanted — for once in his damn life — for this to be a normal, quiet, professional dinner. Just sit at the table with his colleagues, exchange a few polite words, pretend nothing in the world mattered but Formula 1. That was it. That was all he asked.
But no. Of course not.
Because George — George, the infuriating, walking embodiment of everything wrong with his life — just had to be there too. Like always.
And as if being the most annoying rival Max had ever had to deal with wasn’t enough, he also had to be that kind of boyfriend. Shameless. Handsy. Completely incapable of keeping his damn hands to himself, of stopping with the teasing even in front of everyone, of giving Max even one single second of peace.
It was like George existed solely to test his patience, to tear down his walls brick by brick — and no matter how hard Max tried, he couldn’t for the life of him decide whether he wanted to kill him… or just give in and let him have exactly what he wanted.
Summary
Max is a picture like this; stressed and beautiful. He's basically panting with how erratically he's breathing, like he's just finished a race. He can't keep still, moving a few steps to the side just to go back where he was standing originally. His arms are shaking. His lips are red, bitten raw.
He's beautiful.
George watches. There's dried cum in the underside of his underwear. Max doesn't know that, or maybe he does.
Maybe that’s why he keeps moving.
Or the one where George cheats to cope, and Max allows it.
Summary
And all that would remain of the evening he shared in a secluded damp alleyway behind the Grantham karting track with a fourteen year old George Russell and two kid-sized bottles of adult champagne was the vague feeling that it was a strange, strange memory to be a part of, and the certainty that remembering more than that would mean terrible things from them both.
It's been a hundred and two years since the last time George Russell died, twenty since the last he was born. He doesn't plan on doing either of those things again—not anytime soon, at least.
But there is a problem, there always is. And of course, as always, it's Max Verstappen. -
Lando attaches the blushy, pouty photo and sends it, then locks his phone and drops it onto the carpet beside him, staring up at the ceiling.
There’s a pause, stretching suspiciously long.
A faint click echoes through the call. Mute. Then unmute again.
“Sorry,” OP says when he comes back, his voice rougher now. “Thought someone was at the door.”
Or: Lando loses an F1 championship and signs up for a charity Minecraft speedrunning tournament to cope with his existential crisis. Turns out his coach, faceless speedrunning champion OP81, might be a bit of a fanboy.
“What the fuck was that, mate? You could have at least tried being convincing, blimey.”
“Enjoy playing my part for the cameras, don’t you, Russell?” Max snaps.
“Oh my god, of course you’d say that,” George mutters, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Like it or not, you’re gonna have to. Or would you rather be found out?”
Max opens his mouth, finds seemingly nothing to say, and closes it.
“And for the record,” George adds, “I don’t know what’s happening. Obviously.”Or: In Singapore, Max and George swap bodies, at the height of their title fight. It’s a nightmare. It’s also... an opportunity. Maybe. If George can figure out how to use it — and if Max doesn't beat him to it.
Summary
It’s funny, really, how little they talk. What is there to talk about? They were completely different people back when all George’s face inspired in Max was annoyance, that hasn’t suddenly changed just because he’s a little fonder of him now.
When Max brings up video games or his plans to go play darts with friends, George hums along and pretends to care. Max can’t muster up the same pretense when George talks about padel or whatever gossip his girlfriends have fed him at brunch so instead he busies himself with tracing the shape of his lips with his eyes, imagining them swollen and wrapped around him.
More relationships would last longer if people just ignored each other’s personalities and focused on sex, Max thinks.
With a satisfied hum, George steps back, inspecting his work. The chainsaw sputters, its blade glistening slick red, chunks of tissue clogging the teeth. “Well, that was messy,” he sighs, tossing a glance over his shoulder at Oscar. “You’d think I’d be better at this by now.”
