Summary
On his way to the Kent Rugby secondary school Championship, Nick Nelson gets into a horrific car accident and becomes severely physically disabled. Due to recovery and rehab, when he returns to school, he is a year behind his peers. His mom, Sarah, insists that he have a fellow student to help him as he readjusts to school. Charlie Spring, meanwhile, is dealing with the aftermath of being harassed for being gay, with some of the bullies, having been some rugby lads. He is also dealing with hooking up at school with Ben Hope. Despite these challenges, he wants to be Head Boy and Headmaster Barnes offers the volunteer job of helping Nick Nelson in returning to school to Charlie who reluctantly accepts. This work is focused on what happens next, and how they don't save each other, but bring out the best in each other, and you know, it's Heartstopper, so you know how it goes!! Also, a note, that this will primarily be focused on Nick and Charlie, as I don't think I have the chops to really delve into the other stories. (Although there will be some nods to them of course, but like other characters won't get their independent scenes without either Nick or Charlie.)
