Summary
If bootlicking was a class, Karin and Suigetsu would be top of their grade. Karin still has her eye on the hideout’s most prized spot: Orochimaru’s right hand man. But despite being the only loyal follower left, she’s still not the favourite.
Suigetsu on the other hand hates this job with a passion. He wants out of house arrest, and quickly, or he swears the hideout will drive him mad. And yet, he’s still obeying every order with a smile. New orders take him to Kumo, where an estranged family member and arguments with Sasuke force him to confront some truths he’d much rather ignore.
Meanwhile, Orochimaru’s whole ‘reformed criminal’ shtick isn’t very convincing, at least to the people who have to live with him. Konoha on the other hand seems to have swallowed it whole. It’s a shame, because it might just be their undoing.
After a lifetime of following orders, perhaps it’s time for Karin and Suigetsu to take matters into their own hands, and show the world what happens when you tread one too many times on the person who licks your boots clean.
