Mob splashed his face. He felt the cool water trickle down his face and neck. The running tap water served as white noise, barely loud enough to overpower his thoughts. Staring at his hands, he felt his heart slowly sink at the possibility that none of his friends truly knew anything against him. What was there to know, anyway? They all know he's an esper, that's off the list, they all knew his struggles with his emotions, they knew he absolutely sucked at math.
Wow. He really was boring. There wasn't much more to him than that, was there? He looked up, locking eyes with his reflection in the mirror. He could think of one interesting thing about all of his friends. Reigen had a way with words, Tome was awfully knowledgeable in space and aliens, the list goes on. What about him? Or was it just that they didn't care to ask, and therefore he didn't care to think?

The kid was slumped against the wall, knees up to his chest and head hung low between them. Hands clutched the fabric of his trouser legs, knuckles grazed and rubbed raw. Beads of crimson formed, some trickling down his hand and dripping off the edge of his forearm. His breaths were coming out shaky, rattling against his ribcage.
Ritsu couldn't see his face but he could recognise that tuft of strawberry blond hair anywhere.

Last week after Serizawa left in the evening for his classes and before Mob came into my office, I was so bored that I randomly started walking around the office. I got distracted by my pinboard where I put all the pictures of me together with some of my satisfied clients. And between all these beaming faces there was also a picture of me and Mob. Mob didn't smile as much as the others, but he still looked happy. Typical Mob happy. Seeing this photo filled me with so much joy. But there was also something else. I noticed he looked... different. I've known Mob for over 3 years now, and I see him so often that I almost didn't notice this change. But now that I saw that photo again, I could clearly see that he's... thinner. His face... smaller. His eyes... I don't even have the words right now.
