Obi-Wan slid down to the ground, back against the door to Anakin's apartment and head in his hands. His heart pounded in his chest, both from the feeling of Anakin’s anger leaking out of his rooms and his own horror and what was to happen tomorrow.
Anakin was completely right, that law should have been done away with centuries ago. The thought of Anakin being knotted before the Senate made him sick to his stomach, and all because of a holdover from when omegas were seen as nothing more than property. A relic from a time when the only proper emotions an omega could feel were peace and tranquility, and everything else could be solved by an alpha’s knot. An uncharacteristic sneer appeared on Obi-Wan’s face. Now Anakin would be tied and forced to submit, just because of a senator demanding retribution from Anakin, who couldn’t let go of his righteous anger after seeing the conditions of the people on said Senator’s home planet. It was an upsetting situation to be sure, but encouraging a rebellion was not what the Jedi had been sent to do and it had sent the senator into a fury. So the man had made a few calls and unearthed an old law- one perfect for putting the omega “Hero With No Fear” in his place.

“I’m sorry about earlier,” Anakin pleads, desperate. He reaches for Obi-Wan’s face only for him to startle away at once. “Master – ?”
Obi-Wan is still looking at him strangely. His eyes are deep and gray and lovely. “I believe I’m the one who should be sorry,” he clears his throat to rid himself of any residue hoarseness, “You must have me confused for someone else. I’m afraid I don’t know who you are.”
