Summary
Miles “Tails” Prower, whom Sonic called the “Best Mechanic And Inventor Of All Time,” has been taking apart and putting machines back together for years. He began to do that at the age of six, taking things apart to see how they function, and experimenting with the limits of those functions. He wondered and tested if the old electronics anyone threw out could be used for an infinite number of purposes, and he had to take it all apart in order to understand how far he could go.
He wishes he could do that to himself. Take himself apart and see why he behaves the way he does, so that he could better understand and improve upon himself. If living beings were created as simply as machines were, life would be much less complicated. He wouldn’t be scrambling to understand what was wrong with him if he were a machine.

“Oh. Ah!” is her approximate answer. “That is… quite marvellous. Congratulations, my friend. Falling in love is a wondrous thing.”
With a muffled noise of displeasure filling the air Silver fusses in his chair. “That makes it sound so official,” the complaint comes, as if the hedgehog didn’t just yell out to the blue sky and azure ocean his feelings for all to hear. “Also, he doesn’t know. I think. That I feel like this.”
“…Oh dear.”
“And I wanted to ask you if you had, like… tips. Or help. Or something like that.”
When Silver haphazardly visits Blaze in the Sol Dimension, he brings with him a most unusual question: how does he tell Espio he likes him? Luckily, despite her unknowing on the topic, Blaze is more than happy to lend him a listening ear and give some advice.

Sonic met Shadow for the very first time… but it wasn’t when G.U.N was chasing down Sonic, mistaking one for the other. It never happened in the pitch-black of night. In fact, it was what most people called the White Space. Right now, Classic Sonic was lazing over a palm tree, thrown together in a living diorama, not realizing that he would meet the hedgehog of his future dreams… and just what he needed in this moment.
Classic Sonic is typically the physical embodiment of pride. The coolest thing since sliced bread, but after meeting his future friends, and their unflattering comments about his body, his confidence tanks, brought back up by a kind black hedgehog.

Summary
At this point in his life, Silver was well adjusted to the ever-changing ways of the future. He full-heartedly believed in the butterfly effect after his experience with Mephiles, so with his constant meddling in past affairs, he expected there to always be something different when he returned to his timeline.
His own memories would alter with each shift of the future, but with careful journaling and open communication with Blaze, he learned to navigate the confusing order of events and understand what was relevant and irrelevant to his life.
But, interestingly enough, no matter what occurred, whether it be past or present, he could never remember his childhood. It was a blank chapter in his life he desperately wanted to fill. No one around him had any answers to help either.
His whole past was a complete mystery.
Until today.

Sonic would probably be doing worse though, he rationalises. He’s still never been able to get over his fear of water, and would’ve just hurt himself in attempting to escape. Plus, with how tight a fit Tails is, Sonic would’ve found it near impossible to move around.
Really, he made the right choice, he decides as the water climbs to his shoulders.When Tails' decision to save Sonic from Eggman's latest trap ends with him in a race against time, help arrives in a form even Tails' genius couldn't have expected.

“Well, well, well!” Robotnik leads Infinite through his base the next morning. He had said that he was ready to focus on Sonic, and the doctor couldn’t contain his pompous I-told-you-so attitude. “Glad to hear you’ve realized how big of a role defeating Sonic plays in our plan.”
Infinite swallows his pride. It goes down like a shard of pink ice. “Yes. I see now that he is the key to Shadow’s demise.” They step into a room full of monitors. The two robot servants are playing a game of cards in the corner. The houseplant seems to be playing as well. And winning. Infinite turns to the doctor. “Why didn’t you just tell me he and Shadow were lovers?”
Robotnik chokes and trips over air. The two robots turn to him, the red one dropping its cards, and all three of them stare at Infinite as though he’s grown a second head.
Infinite growls. “What?”
“Lovers?” the doctor sputters. “They are not lovers. What in the-”
“They’re rivals!” the red one yells, just as the yellow one yells “They hate each other!”
In which Infinite comes to a realization and takes full advantage of it.
