Summary
Richard had left him and gone to Blüdhaven. Two different iterations of the Teen Titans had deemed him unworthy for one reason or another. Djinn would have rather remained in Limbo than in his presence. Flatline was present one moment and gone the next, as flighty as Catwoman. His only constant was Superboy, no matter their tumultuous relationship, he was a glowing presence.
So if his one, longest lasting friend, decided that he would much rather live in the future, that he would much rather spend time with the pink haired boy, that he would much rather team up with Richard, it was okay.

“Just ask me,” Joker whispers into his ear. His breath is hot and stale and Damian digs his fingers into the meat of his palm to stop himself from flinching. “Just one small noise and I can make this all go away.”
Damian fills in the gaps easily. He’ll stop and move on to Jon next and it is one thing to have Damian, son of assassins, heir to the Demon’s head, well-versed in pain since he could walk be tortured slowly to death and it is another thing entirely to have Jon Kent, personification of sunshine and all good things left in the world tortured.
Damian always knew that he was a walking curse.
