    Summary

There’s a twinge between Clint’s shoulders that hasn’t stopped in three days. If he doesn’t move at all, and holds himself ramrod-straight, then he can ignore it. Mostly. But there’s hardly any opportunity to do that when he’s spent the better part of the week shoved in different perches and hidey-holes, making shots only he can make.

“Barton. I need a sit-rep.” It’s not Coulson in his ear and his stomach roils every time he remembers that. Clint doesn’t deign to answer. Jackson’s plan had gone straight to shit, like Clint said it would, and now he’s dealing with the fallout. Two days after he was supposed to be safe on a plane home.

    Summary

This fic will discuss mental health, eating disorders, and self-harm. If this is not a good fic for you, please don't read! There will be no graphic depictions of self-harm, but references to scars and some references to child abuse.

Scars on a hockey player weren’t rare; they were actually quite common, from fights on the ice to drunken mishaps. However, Ilya Rosanov had more than most. Ilya was the walking poster board for daddy issues and good old fashion russian discipline. When he first started with Boston, he would flinch ever so slightly when one of the older guys clapped him on the back too hard; a few scars were too perfect, too round, and too structured cigarette burns; they littered his body.

OR 5 times people who love Ilya Rozanov realize he's self-harming, and 1 time he tells them

    Chapter 1- Cliff Marlow
    Chapter 2 - Svetlana Vetrovaz
    Chapter 3 - Shane Hollander
Chapter 4 - David and Yuna
    Chapter 5 - Hayden Pike
Chapter 6 - Ilya tells the world
Chapter 7 - BONUS Zane Boodram

The name of your soulmate only appears once your realize you are in love with them.
"Shane Hollander" appears on Ilya's chest before the Sochi Olympics. He tells nobody, and then he disappears.

Six months later, Shane gets a call from an unknown number. Ilya. In Montreal, and completely different.
It doesn't matter, though, and the next morning there's a line of Cyrillic across his chest.

    Timeline goes back and forth.

    Summary

To the world, Ilya Rozanov is the face of resilience. He has the career, the house, and the man—Shane Hollander, the legendary rival who walked away from a legacy in Montreal to build a life by Ilya’s side. Yet, behind the surface, the foundation is cracking. Haunted by the shadow of his mother’s suicide and a crushing sense of guilt, Ilya is convinced he is the architect of Shane’s downfall. To Ilya, every “traitor” chant from the stands and every weary look in Shane’s eyes is a bill that he can never pay. The antidepressants are failing, the nightmares are returning, and the only thing louder than the roar of his Ducati is the silence of the things he can’t tell anyone.

When a routine hit on the ice turns into a medical emergency, the “fine” life Ilya has spent months performing is stripped away. As his body fails, Shane is left to piece together the truth of the man he thought he knew.

    Summary

The airport looks like it always does. A sea of people oblivious to anything going on around them. Ilya is about to put his headphones over his ears when he sees something so familiar his brain almost doesn't register it. That is until he realizes that he's in fucking Moscow so this doesn't make any sense.

Because right there at the gate, spread out over several chairs, his duffle bag as a pillow, is the figure of Shane Hollander sleeping. The hood of his sweatshirt is up and he's wearing sunglasses, but Ilya would recognize the shape of Shane Hollander anywhere.

“Hollander?” he asks in shock, stepping closer.

Or, Shane shows up in Russia after learning Ilya's father died. Ilya did not ask him to do this. He just showed up. And now Ilya doesn't know what to do with himself. He proceeds to just go with it, and maybe listen to Shane for once.

Another song inspired fic, this time Ever the Same by Rob Thomas which I argue is underrated.
