Summary
This is a rewrite of s5 because I was disappointed by it and we, the audience, deserved our byler endgame. This is basically the movies Nightmare on Elm Street, which inspired the title, The Black Phone 1 and 2, It, Weapons, Insidious 1 and 2, and the show put into a blender. The first chapter only includes the byers family, but everyone else comes into play later. Some lines in this fic are direct lines from the show because I'm trying to keep this fic as canon compliant as possible or close to it. However, it's canon divergent because some events don't match the show so it makes more sense. This fic is basically a greatest hits highlight reel with my personal spin on them. Unfortunately, characters may be ooc but hopefully it'll make sense in the end.

Summary
Being a part-time superhero doesn’t solve Will’s problems; instead, it adds to them. As Cleric, he’s forced to deal with his egotistical know-it-all of a partner, Paladin. As Will, he’s stuck hopelessly pining after his best friend. He’s honestly not sure which is worse.
One thing’s for sure, though — he needs a change. In one of his weaker moments, Will comes up with a plan: get over Mike by getting under someone else, someone he knows he won’t fall for.
Maybe Paladin is good for something, after all.
