“Take my shadow for example,” The wixen gently extended his finger to let the winged-creature crawl onto it and held it up for the muggle to see. “It looks very much like a helpful honey bee. It has the same coloring, even has a stinger, but you would consider this a pest, no? As a matter of fact, you and I both know that wasps hunt honey bees and kill them to steal the product of their hard labor. They will destroy entire colonies if left unchecked and with the death of those colonies, your crops also die. You wouldn’t let one of them set up a nest near your fields, in fact you would go out of your way to snuff out any sign of such a thing, wouldn’t you?”
Louis Evans didn’t consider himself a rebel in any respect. He was just a farmer. A father who wanted to keep his family safe.
“At the end of the day we’re not so different, you and I,” The wixen said. “I too am a sort of farmer, but my crop is different from yours…”

“I can’t believe I’m giving you advice,” Rowle muttered to himself, running his fingers through his short, sandy blond hair. His blue eyes met the Slytherin Head Boy's stormy gray eyes across the library table that they sat, and a grimace crossed Ravenclaw's face. “Look Riddle, Evans isn’t someone to mess around with. I know he looks nonthreatening, being so short, and thin, like a gust of wind could blow him over; but if you keep fucking with him it’s your funeral.”
Tom arched an incredulous brow. He looked at seventeen-year-old Theodore Rowle, all six-feet and two inches of him, and compared him to the five-foot-five fifteen-year-old Henry Evans in his mind. The fact that the Ravenclaw was in any way frightened of his small, sylphlike housemate was laughable to him when Theodore was so large and broad-shouldered in comparison. But he was. Noticeably so. Tom didn’t need to use legilimency to see it. “Why are you so afraid of him?” He wondered aloud.
“Because I’m not stupid,” Rowle scoffed. “We’ve known each other a long time. I know what he’s capable of.”
Tom leaned forward in his seat, interested. “And praytell, Rowle, just what is Evans capable of?”Series

Dear diary,
I did something bad. Like really bad. Something I knew I was never supposed to do. Especially when my mom was at work and I was home alone. She told me specifically, “Elisabeth, when I’m gone don’t open this front door for anyone.” And what did I do? I opened the front door.
It wasn’t my fault. I heard the doorbell ring and I tried to hide, ya know, because if no one thinks I’m home maybe they’d go away. Except, I had been standing in front of the kitchen window, and the stranger, a woman in a long, green dress, saw me from the front stoop before I could duck down under the sink. I would’ve called someone. Called mom, but she got a new number when we moved here and the note must’ve fallen off of the fridge because I couldn’t find it. And I couldn’t call the cops, mostly because I didn’t know the emergency number for the police in Scotland. And the yellow pages, or whatever the equivalent Scottish phone book was, was packed away in a box somewhere I thought.
Who randomly comes to the door? Like was it a Jehovah’s Witness? A door-to-door saleman—saleswoman? Someone selling Bibles maybe? Or it could be a burglar?
I think I’ve seen too many crime documentaries. Maybe... -

Summary
When he had first seen it, it had been digging through the rubbish bins behind a seedy pub, looking for scraps to eat, and all the sudden Harry had been transported back to his youth. To the years before Hogwarts. When he saw Mi’lord, underfed and so skinny he could see the outline of the creature's hip bones jutting out from its skin, Harry found himself approaching it and removing the roast beef from the sandwich he had just purchased for his lunch before fully realizing what he was doing.
Then the next day, he found himself repeating the process. He had even ordered extra roast beef, from the café on Diagon Alley so that he didn’t have to eat a sandwich consisting of only bread, lettuce, mayonnaise, and cheese.
It became a routine. Something almost ritualistic after that.
He should’ve known then, when came the day that he placed that whole roast beef sandwich on the ground between them and forewent his lunch that day, that this relationship—dynamic, whatever you call it—was not one of equals.

Tom paused. “Plan?”
“Yeah, your big plan after you leave this place,” Evans turned to face him fully, leaning his shoulder against the wall. “You want to tear everything down and rebuild it like you did with Slytherin house. That’s why you have all these followers.”
“Followers?” Tom quirked his brow. “I’m afraid I don’t understand what you’re referring to.”
“Your knights, Riddle,” Evans took the cigarette again.
“You mean ‘The Knights of Walpurgis’, Evans, not ‘my knights’.”
The smaller boy frowned. “You founded them, didn’t you?”
“I did,” Tom nodded. “But they don’t belong to me. It’s just a dueling club.”
Evans gave him a bland look. “You and I both know it’s not just a dueling club,” he said.
