“I thought you were just judging my drink choice when I ordered it!” He protested and Eddie just giggled, one hand grabbing a strand of his hair and pulling it in front of his mouth.
“No that’s just my lack of controlling some of my expressions. I used to practice them in the mirror to make sure I’d get them right when I was a kid, but,” he shrugs, “now I just forget what my face is doing, so that was just my face reacting to someone drinking something I like.”
Steve wasn't expecting to find someone who gets his asexuality. He didn't know enough ace people and allo people are too much work anyways, and Eddie wasn't expecting to find someone who would understand his sex-repulsion, but maybe one night would change that for both of them.
The tags sound scary and I don't want to downplay the possible triggering topics but this is also very wholesome when the boys aren't trauma dumping.Bookmarked by Jacx023

Summary
“Fortunes told, futures unfold.”
The sign at the local ren faire looks tempting. After all, Steve is one year out of high school and has no idea where his life is going. Sometimes he wishes someone could just gaze into the future and figure it out for him.
In the fortune teller’s tent, Steve has a run-in with his past. And if he doesn’t turn on his heel and leave, it has absolutely nothing to do with how pretty Eddie Munson looks in his costume, all gleaming jewelry and dark tendrils of hair spilling out from under a patterned headscarf. He lets Eddie read his palm, because why the hell not? It’s all bogus anyway!
Except, as the summer goes on, Steve finds that Eddie’s cryptic predictions somehow, inexplicably keep coming true. As they keep running into each other, almost as if orchestrated by an invisible force, Steve can’t help but be intrigued with the other boy. He also can’t seem to forget how pretty Eddie’s eyes look in black liner, or the way his fingers feel on his skin, but that is an entirely different problem.

Because yes. The saffron does taste better. The saffron tastes so much better and the dish now makes Steve’s tastebuds soar and his eyes water and the only thing worse than admitting Eddie is correct right now, is admitting that that dish is miles fucking better since Eddie puts his hands on it.
And Steve finds himself wondering for a split fucking moment in between the rage he’s feeling, if everything is better with Eddie’s hands on it.

Eddie laughed breathily. " 'S okay, I always end up killing them somehow anyway." Eddie intertwined their hands, squeezing Steve's hand gently. "Are you asking me out on a date, Steve Harrington?"
"I-" Steve raised their joined hands and kissed the back of Eddie's palm. "-am asking you out on a date, Eddie Munson."

Summary
Eddie Munson is not an idiot.
Steve Harrington understood this fact when he met the kid halfway through the fifth grade, despite Eddie being a year younger than the rest of the class.
Munson had a motor mouth that was always split into a far-away grin and these huge eyes that shined like the stars lived in them. When Steve, young and full of pre-teen animosity, asked him where the hell he had come from, Munson had turned that wilded-out expression toward him to explain that he, in one fell swoop, half of fourth and half of fifth grade.
or, Eddie Munson is a lot younger, and a lot smarter, than people tend to believe.
