“Do you mean Ben hasn’t told you about your dad before?” Camie asks, sounding kind. “Like, ever?”
“I mean, I know some things,” Luke says, sitting up straight and defensive with a glare at his friend. "He talked about him sometimes, you know."

Summary
It shouldn't have been her, Anakin contemplates as he raises his children alone in a malevolent Empire. It should have been him.
In his search for lost knowledge that could help him do what he had so far been unable to do – become the Chosen One and restore the balance to the Force – the man who had lost everything apart from his children longed for someone to support and complement him, to give him what he lacked. He was still too weak to fight alone, but with someone else, perhaps he could.
It's in his quest to find this person that Anakin loses everything again... but maybe that's a blessing in disguise? Perhaps here he will have a chance to succeed where he had failed? After all, who better to fight against a Fallen Chosen One than a Chosen One?

Obi-Wan was familiar with loss, was also an old friend of his brother-turned-son-turned-something-else’s particular brand of all-consuming desolation, disconsolate crying and angry tears and wishing for justice that was out of reach for normal people like them living just under the surface of Coruscant. Obi-Wan had been there to hold his boy through the grief of losing his mother, their father, Anakin’s own arm which had been lost in a foundry accident at nineteen. Through Anakin’s first heartbreak and when he was drugged up to his eyeballs with painkillers while getting used to his prosthetic and telling Obi-Wan he loved him and wanted him in a way no brother should want his brother, nor son should want his father.
Obi-Wan knew loss, and he knew Anakin.
What he didn’t know was why Anakin was sobbing about this particular issue.Series

The artist had focused on the sharp of his Adam’s apple, the muscularity of his back, the sullen scowl of his brow. Anakin didn’t know what he’d expected, unsure what about him would be defined as beautiful or interesting. He knew, faintly, that he was considered attractive, and that the artist was too, but if he analysed it, he came up empty.
With the belt off, his jeans fell to the ground.
