Bill noticed the wards were down first. Every business on Diagon was missing its “No werewolves or vampires” sign, he said. Same on Knockturn. Same in Hogsmeade.
Kingsley asked Remus to check it out. See if it was real, or if the wards had just been made stealthier, or if they were down in name only. More importantly, see if the feral werewolves had noticed.
