“Tell me, Aziraphale-”
His eyes snapped open at the sound of his name, loud and startling. The warm embrace of nothingness shattered as he came back to himself, floating in an endless vacuum of white so blinding, he instinctively shied away.
“What is it that you want?”
“What I-?” For so long, it hadn’t mattered what he wanted - his duty was to Heaven and doing the right thing. Wanting had always been Crowley’s domain.
Aziraphale looked around the space helplessly, desperate to spot a familiar set of yellow eyes amid the overwhelming white of oblivion. His heart sank at the distinct emptiness by his side. “I don’t understand. God, why did you bring me back?”
“If the choice was yours,” She reiterated, phaning ignorance at his obvious plight, “what would you have chosen?”
Aziraphale looked out into the vast white and took a steadying breath. “I would have chosen Crowley,” he admitted.
OR
Crowley gets his wish, but so does Aziraphale - in classic ineffable style.

(Series Summary: For three centuries, Crowley has been reincarnated over and over as a human with no memory of his past. Aziraphale has tried to find a way to restore him to his true self, but all he seems to do is hurt them both. “Took a bit of a tumble, I’m afraid,” Aziraphale said. “But, well. What’s done is done.”
“What’s done - ?”
“Now that I’m no longer beholden to a rather arbitrary moral code, I have to ask: Do you pay taxes? Actually, more importantly, do you think I can stop paying taxes now? That seems like a sufficiently demonic thing to do. Refusing to do my civic duty and whatnot. Quite devious, I’d argue.”
This was, in hindsight, not the most sensitive way of breaking the news.

Raphael had been the third angel ever created, and he’d raised himself first with Michael’s clumsy help. Then he’d turned around and raised three more siblings, and loved them all so fiercely it hurt. He'd loved Aziraphale too, more than either of them really knew.
And then, he fell. He lost everything. The bond he held with his siblings was ripped away, leaving an aching, empty void. And while he still has Aziraphale, the angel doesn't recognize the archangel who taught him how to care about the Earth. And Crowley refuses to tell him who he was, or how Aziraphale's voice is the one thing that can soothe the ache in his soul that wants, so badly, to feel a connection again.
A story through the ages as an angel and a demon come to terms with their shared past.

Summary
He cursed himself mentally- “How did he make it look so easy? How can he feel the same feelings I do, yet when I try to say them aloud they refuse to come out?” It was at that moment- staring at the most incredible being he had ever laid eyes on- that Crowley believed himself to be the most cold, callous demon in history.
Or
Aziraphale and Crowley have saved Earth. Overtime, and without the threat of the Above or Below watching over them, Aziraphale begins to open up about his feelings towards Crowley. The demon, on the other hand, is wracked with inner turmoil as he struggles to convey his own feelings towards the angel.
Canon compliant up to the point of the season 2 finale, because they deserve a better ending.
