Summary
After leaving RaviHyral, by the time I exit the wormhole adjacent to Port Outlander, the sting of SecUnit’s absence has finally begun to fade. Cargo runs are always lonely, so this is nothing new. SecUnit left me with more to occupy my time than I usually have. Media. Memories. A few topics of pointless rumination, I suppose, but also new topics of data analysis and research.

Summary
As a state-of-the-art B-class wormhole-capable deep-space research vessel, I do not consider myself to have many serious design flaws. Every piece of me has been meticulously crafted, is regularly maintained and upgraded, and there is very little I cannot do if I set my several dozen exabytes of processing power upon the task. This is why the Pansystem University of Mihira and New Tideland’s extra-curricular oversight committee deemed me more than capable of operating unmanned on the occasional intelligence-gathering reconnaissance mission. It is for the sake of both necessity and convenience that these missions are camouflaged as cargo runs.
Nonetheless, it is an unmistakable oversight that I am capable of being bored. It is also incredibly annoying that unmanned cargo runs are so dull.

Summary
My performance reliability dropped but the spike of fear upped my reaction time, and my body moved before I consciously realized that it wasn’t going to work.
I swung at TargetContact with my improvised club, but the force I put into the swing made my wrecked knee joint give out, and the blow only grazed it. I hit the floor again, and TargetContact was on top of me.
Turns out, I was right that this was going to be worse. I just had no idea exactly how much worse.

Things go a lot worse for Murderbot at the end of Network Effect before they get better. This changes a good number of things, but maybe not anything that really matters. Like how far the people that love it are willing to go for its sake.

Summary
Thanatos watches everything Prince Zagreus does, but talking about it has never been his strong suit. He's found keeping his emotions hidden is best practice, and doubly so when the person you want wants nothing more than to leave the home you share forever. He feels selfish, so selfish, but he can't stop himself from hoping Zag can't leave, from hoping he'll stay so Thanatos never has to find out what it's like when Zagreus finally goes.
Scenes and implications from the game retold from Thanatos's perspective. Pining! Unspoken love! Boys not knowing how to talk to each other but needing to be close even when one runs away over and over!

The sun was rising on the surface. Thanatos stood, scythe clutched in one hand, listening to the snow as it crunched under his shifting feet. Before him, a war raged, bloody in scent and colour against Demeter’s white carpet. It reminded him, oddly, of Zagreus.

Summary
Zagreus rose from the Styx, spitting watery blood from his mouth. His breath didn’t seem to reach the bottom of his lungs, and the stale, dusty air almost made him vomit. His brief death gave no relief to the burning in his eyes and the pounding in his head.
The line of shades before him doubled and tripled, reflecting oddly in his damp eyes.

Zagreus really, really needs to nap. He does his best not to.

Summary
Zagreus stared dizzily at the clear, sparkling water, the many blessings of Aphrodite spreading a rosy glow over his reflection. He splashed the cool water over his arms, watching cuts disappear, and cupped some in his hands to drink. It was so refreshing, and seemed to sharpen his hazy thoughts so much, that he leaned over the edge to plunge his head under the surface.
He raised his head, droplets flying from his hair and trickling down his back, evaporating from his skin. And perhaps it was Aphrodite’s influence, but he felt a small, exhilarating thrill at the cool drops against the nape of his neck that made him clamber over the marble edge, so that he stood submerged in waist-high water.
The sensual coolness made him realize how hot his skin had been, flushed even more so than usual with the warm glow of Cytherian power.
It was then that Thanatos appeared in the chamber.

Summary
“It’s just, the way you looked standing in the sunlight, you were like one of the Nikés Father told me about, who live up on Olympus.” Zagreus’ lips absently found Thanatos’ shoulder, the bare cool skin where the fabric ended. “You looked like you should have wings, Than, like you could make me blind to everything.”
He felt Thanatos’s arm stiffen, and shivered as fingers slid into his hair and coaxed him to turn his face upwards.
“You make me blind to everything,” Thanatos murmured, as he sought Zagreus’s mouth, “it’s why you’re so infuriating sometimes, Zagreus.”

Zagreus is severely wounded in Elysium and wants to end his latest escape attempt on his own terms, in a way of his choosing. When Thanatos turns up looking for him, Zagreus asks him for help. Thanatos' attempt to make it painless for him has some unintended side affects.
