It’s not a problem, exactly. Eddie’s a nice guy. Pretty funny. Steve likes his company, honestly. It’s just that Steve’s general rule for how to interact with girls he hooked up with is: don’t.
Of course, Eddie isn’t a girl. And he fought monsters with Eddie, so he’s hardly just a hookup, either. Neither of those factors exactly serve to make it any less complicated.
Or, Steve and Eddie hook up pre-season 4, and then are forced to actually spend time together thanks to the events of s4, and realize they actually like each other
