Jax and Ragatha are undergraduate interns at Caine & Abel: Attorneys at Law, hoping to get good resumes for law school applications. When Kaufmo unexpectedly quits, Jax and Ragatha go head to head to try and be promoted to take his job as intern team leader. After being forced to work together and starting to finally enjoy each other's company, Ribbit (an old employee), gets rehired and office drama ensues.

Caine knows he's messed up after the events of episode 7 with the Abel adventure, so he decides to bring back some familiar faces to try to win back the favor of the humans. It... doesn't go quite as planned.
Jax/Ribbit/Ragatha angst + Black Mirror esque existential horror: How would you feel if your (essentially deceased) friend was turned into a robotic copy to try to placate you? Would you accept it out of loneliness because you miss them? Or would you be absolutely livid to see the pale imitation of a person you once loved?
Existential crises ensue.
