That would be a little morbid, all things considered.

Sure enough, the violent little blur of green matches Neil’s likeness as it goes from tree to tree. Andrew is thankful for the helmet, as it hides his gaping face from the others when Neil suddenly stops, turns, and begins climbing the thick body of the tree at a lightning speed.

Andrew steps forward, and now Neil’s heart is beating hard against the cage of his chest because this is Andrew. This is what Andrew does.
“You have paint on your face.” Andrew presses a thumb to Neil’s cheekbone. He’s still for a second, eyes fixed firmly on Neil’s eyes, then his thumb slowly brushes from cheek to ear.
Neil swallows hard. He’s still holding the paintbrush and for a second, everything narrows down to the sound of Andrew’s breathing. Neil blinks. Then he reaches up and draws a line of brown across Andrew’s nose.

"Name?"
"Andrew Minyard," he pushes out through gritted teeth.
“Well well well,” the man on the other end sounds amused, smug. Andrew waits for him to continue, his feet pounding against the pavement. “If you’re the one coming to meet me, I have to assume you’ve finally found a way to keep Josten on a leash?”
The clink of metal, rough breathing, unseeing blue eyes, panicked pleading.
When Andrew doesn’t answer, the Raven presses further.
“Either you’ve found a way to keep him subdued or you’re not coming alone like you were told. Which is it, Minyard? I told you what would happen if you didn’t do as you were asked.”
“Neil won’t be bothering us,” Andrew spits out, “he’s staying at home for this one.”
There’s movement on the other end of the phone, presumably the Raven preparing to leave and come meet him.

Stuart stared warily at Neil, sensing the danger in his voice
“You wish for me,” Neil snarled softly, “to seek marriage.”
It was not a question– rather a damning finger of accusation pointed at his uncle.
“Yes,” Stuart said slowly.
“Why.” Neil demanded sharply, sprawled in an armchair with deceptive casualty, his hands gripping the armrests as one might imagine a defensive cat would.

OR: Neil is on the run from his father's men, and has been for his entire life. Except now, the Stuart crime family has allied with him, after saving him from his father and killing him in the aftermath, and Neil is much more powerful and dangerous than he has been before. The Moriyama family, however, still wants him, and Neil must go to drastic measures in order to gain his freedom.
OR: I put Neil in that one AU where Character A has to be married soon, but will only marry someone who can befriend their "cat". Character B befriends the "cat" and Character A, and the two are married. After some angst, of course.

“I’m going to ask you something potentially personal,” Andrew warns. He says it like a statement but looks to Neil before continuing.
Neil nods distractedly, still processing Andrew’s words, turning them over in his mind as if he looks at them from a different angle, they’ll make sense. Like if he stares at them long enough, they’ll snap into place with the rest of Neil’s life.
“What did you mean when you said you’re a girl?”
“Just that. I’m a girl.” The words have never tasted less true. And they never particularly did to begin with. “I’ve been pretending to be a guy for…reasons.”
Neil joins some language clubs, makes some friends, and learns that being trans is an option.

Neil goes to Edgar Allan for winter break with the intention of soon returning to PSU... only when he does, it's with a contract in his pocket as a Raven, to let Wymack know that he isn't a Fox any longer.
(That he's switched teams to protect his friends... to protect ANDREW, not that he'll ever admit such a thing out loud.)Andrew returns to PSU free of a detested drug but not of familiar, awful demons, only to find a certain lying rabbit (a certain pipedream) has run away to Edgar Allan, and refuses to have anything to do with Neil Josten anymore.
Only it's not as simple as that, is it? Not when Riko is still determined to tear the Foxes down, to prove that he's 'better' than Kevin.
When others know the truth about Neil, and Andrew's feeling for him.
