“You keep saying things like that, but you haven’t seen my face,” he says, gesturing to his mask. “I could have warts under here. I could have spots, or scars.”
“You’d be lovely even with all of those,” the young man says, and he suddenly sounds serious. It takes Keith by surprise, makes his heart twist along with his stomach. “Your eyes,” he continues, tilting his head. “I’ve never seen eyes like yours before.”

A huge red and white cat is laying on top of the keyboard of the laptop shunted off to the side, her tail flicking back and forth. They both appear to be asleep.

Lance had often watched his best friend trace over the brilliant orange sparrow tattoo on his arm and envied the soft, distant smile that crept over his friend’s face. Lance was happy for him, of course, but he couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy. He wanted someone to share his life with more than almost anything.
He used to imagine what it would be like to go on his first date with his soulmate, constructing elaborate plans and playing them out in his head.
Somehow, sitting in a beat-up red pickup truck in the middle of traffic while listening to outdated rock music next to a guy with a mullet of all things wasn’t exactly what Lance had in mind.
“It’s not a mullet,” Mullet Guy protested.

Summary
Lance's fingers hovered over the talisman, an inch away from brushing against it. His mind went blank as he stared down at the other boy, who stared back at him with wide, questioning eyes that were a startling shade of violet.
The dazed look on the boy’s face transformed into a frown as his breathing quickened. The more his eyes focused on Lance, the more a wild panic started to set into them.
"Who are you?" he asked sharply. It sounded like he'd meant it to come out with more ferocity, but his voice rasped on the words like he hadn't spoken in weeks.
Lance doesn't know where he comes from––only that he was found in a forest on a distant planet when he was an infant, with no sign of his origin except a blue talisman around his neck. Nowadays he's content to travel the universe with his best friend Hunk, scavenging and selling goods. Humans provide Seraphs with energy through a bond with their happiness while Spirits in turn help Humans with their magical abilities, such as providing light magic in their house, blessing them with luck charms for good fortune in their occupation, or even preparing food or giving transportation to them.
Lance has been bonded to his best friend Hunk, an earth seraph, since they were little kids. Together they work at Lance’s family-run grocery store, where Hunk helps grow the produce and Lance does just about anything else. It isn’t until meeting and bonding with an abandoned fire seraph that Lance truly feels his life is complete though. With the new addition to their home, Lance finally has all he really wants in life. This is the story of that fateful day, of the days after that, and of the day that Lance became probably the luckiest human in the world.

And. Oh. Oh fuck no. It’s one thing for Lance to have lied about his non-existent romantic relationship with Keith, which was a mess he was going to have to clean up somehow, but quite another to fake said relationship in front of Hunk and Allura, both incredibly perceptive. Lance had only lied because he didn’t think he’d actually have to pretend to be dating Keith, because he’d figured he’d make up some bullshit excuse later, like they broke up or something, and no one would be the wiser. But this? This complicates things.
Or,
Lance just wants to be a good friend, but that apparently includes having to pretend to date Keith, and let's just say, things kinda spiral from there.

But when Lance runs into the guy who ghosted him, and he's been moping over ever since, randomly, at a cafe they were supposed to go to for their date, he realizes the Universe is either sending him a sign, or just mocking him. Knowing Lance's luck, it's probably both.

Summary
When Lance is captured by the Galra, the rest of the crew finds him quickly - alive, but unconscious. The team tries everything they can think of to wake him up, but find that the only way to do it is to project another’s consciousness into Lance’s. Keith volunteers, and dives into Lance’s headspace, with only the instruction to bring Lance back with him. But when Keith finds himself getting sucked into the fantasy that Lance has built, he not only has to figure out how to drag Lance out of la la land, but he now has to hold on to the memory of another world - the real world - that is suddenly slipping through his fingers.
