The woman turns, and for half a second, she does look like Ashley. The blonde hair, the clothes, the shape of her silhouette in the dim light. But then she smiles as she faces him fully, and his heart promptly sinks into his chest.
"Don't sound so disappointed, Tim. Aren't you happy to see me?"

"I called this in so backup should be here soon. You alright?" She asks him, concern flickering in her eyes as she takes in the wound on his wrist. Tim simply nods in reply, too winded to respond verbally. Blood is trickling down onto the concrete floor in steady drips now and he sways on his feet, feeling suddenly dizzy. He looks down at his uniform which is splattered with crimson flecks, a stark contrast to the blue fabric. Great, he’s probably going to have to order a new uniform now. With a grimace, he wipes at it with his uninjured hand, trying to remove as much of it as he can.
“I’m fine.” The adrenaline is wearing off now and every bruised muscle screams its protest as he moves — she doesn’t need to know that though. He groans inwardly; this will be hell tomorrow.
"Tough guy." Angela rolls her eyes, but there's a hint of amusement in her voice. With a sigh, she pulls out a small first aid kit — always prepared — and reaches for his bleeding wrist. "Hold still."

I was asked to write a one shot centered around a very pregnant Lucy dragging Tim to a store in the middle of the night to fulfil a late-night craving. While they're shopping, the store they're at gets robbed and the two of them become hostages. During all the chaos, Lucy's water breaks so Tim ends up having to juggle how to keep Lucy safe and getting them out of there safety without escalating the situation. And of course, an ending with the delivery of their baby girl! -

The door creaks open mid-sentence, and Tim’s words falter immediately. Lucy steps into the room, and her presence is like a sudden shift in the air. Finally, they can get out of here. His full attention slides her, but all previous frustration he felt is momentarily eclipsed by something else.She’s been crying. It’s written all over her face, plain as day. Her eyes are red and glassy, the faint puffiness beneath them in addition to her slightly pink nose making her look far more vulnerable than he’s used to seeing. Even her posture betrays her; she’s standing too stiffly, her arms wrapped tightly around her midsection as though she’s holding herself together by sheer will alone.
Angela might actually have a point.
If he didn’t feel bad enough before, he sure does now.

And that is what finally leads to Lucy finding out about everything/the start of the adult conversation that REALLY needs to take place?

But it's the third that makes her blood run cold.Lucy's head snaps up, her eyes immediately finding Tim's. He's watching her now, his expression carefully blank, but she can see the tension in every line of his body, the slight tremor in his hands that he's trying to hide by keeping them firmly pressed against his thighs.
"I don’t understand. That's not—" she starts, then recalibrates. "I know you wouldn't do that. But the fact that Zuzu would even suggest it..."
Her mind races, connecting dots she really doesn't want to be connecting. This thing had somehow convinced two teenage girls to stab their friend, whispering poison into their minds through innocent-looking text messages. And now it's what? Trying to convince Tim to kill himself?
He wouldn't do that. Right?
