He wasn’t sure why he couldn’t confidently say that he had a crush. Tenna’s just different. He liked how she favored him over everyone else, how affectionate and touchy she was only for him. He couldn’t say if he felt empowered or weakened by her admiration, but it certainly wasn’t deserved. Despite that, he desired it more than anything.

Here was this man, sitting like a piece of blue mold against the torn leather seat. He gloated about information and connections and honesty, but Tenna knew better than to trust the words of some stranger who thought he was on top of the world. The way he smiled, large and wolf-like, eyes scanning Tenna like he was looking for an opening to strike. Everything about him screamed untrustworthy.
But if he's not lying…
