Megumi isn’t a jealous person.
“Wow, it looks like Itadori is toeing the doorway of manhood,” Kugisaki muses, a tilt of surprise in her voice. Megumi’s eyes burn holes into the backs of Yuuji and Ozawa, watching as they walk side by side. “I can’t believe he’s gonna get into a relationship before me. I’m kinda pissed.” She crosses her arms, half-frowning.
Well, he wasn’t ever a jealous person before.
; Megumi has a momentary lapse of judgment during a fit of jealousy, and it gets him more than he bargained for. (Apparently, he's afraid of bugs now?)

“Have you ever had your hair short? Like shaved?” Yuuji reaches up and takes one of the curling strands between his fingers, feeling how soft it is even after the long day they’ve had. Megumi turns his head away after a moment, jerking his head lightly to free the strand from Yuuji’s grasp.
Yuuji chuckles softly, eyes shifting to meet Megumi’s, who’s looking down at him with a furrowed brow. He takes the quiet moment to study Megumi’s face. Sharp eyes with prominent lashes, green irises that darken in the gray around them.
“The way your hair dries really is nice, Fushiguro. It’s a little distracting sometimes. I know people tease, but I don’t think I’d want it any other way.”

“Oh, yeah?” Megumi asks, unable to resist the opportunity unfolding so perfectly before him. He leans in so his breath ghosts against the shell of Yuuji’s ear, letting his grin bleed fully into his voice with honeyed warmth. “Is he strong?”
“Yeah, very,” Yuuji snaps. “And he just went to the bathroom, so you–” The words cut off abruptly as recognition finally pierces the thick fog of alcohol; Megumi feels the precise instant it happens: the tension in Yuuji’s body shifts from being defensively rigid to something else – surprise laced with embarrassed heat and clear, flooding relief. He turns his head at last. “Megumi?”

The words hang there in the space around them and Yuji blinks at him, his lips parting slightly. Megumi thinks Yuji’s lips would taste good. He thinks Yuji’s lips are the only lips in the whole world that’d taste good— that are appealing.
“... I know,” Yuji says, smiling faintly, voice soft and sweet and— Yuji’s stupid. Megumi doesn’t know how he manages to reiterate himself but it’s easy somehow.
“No,” he shakes his head. “You’re not understanding me.” He looks away for a moment as he pauses, before bringing his gaze back to him. “... I like you, Itadori.”
“I know,” Yuji says again, a beautiful idiot. His smile is deepening, and Megumi feels dizzy staring into him this way. This would be easier if Yuji wasn’t Yuji.
“No, you idiot,” Megumi says, somehow keeping his tone calm. “I like you… don’t make me explain it.”or: a prequel to “sunshine and clear skies” where we see how yuji and megumi begin dating, as well as how everyone else finds out :p, but this also works as a stand alone story too of course :3

Itadori becomes so open when he’s like this, vulnerable in a way only sleep can reveal. His muscles aren’t tensed and ready to protect. Even his scars look smoother, not raised or puckered with evidence of stress.
A monster turned human.
Megumi glances at the arm resting next to him, gaze traveling up the thick muscles that forever harden and encase them now. Raised veins lead to a curled hand ending in pointed fingers. For a monster, Itadori is devastatingly beautiful.
