“There’s two stars,” Hinata repeats, still watching the bright star. It flickers, and he lets out a quiet, awkward laugh. “I think… we’re kind of like that."
“Wha…” The word dies on Kageyama’s tongue. He moves closer, not quite following.
“It’s a bit stupid.” Hinata’s smile wavers, eyes flicking down at him. “You don’t need to—”
“Tell me,” Kageyama says, holding his gaze steady.
Hinata swallows, and his cheeks flush red again. “You know… how two binary stars are bound together by gravity? Orbiting around each other? That’s like us… with volleyball.”
Last year of high school, and one last Spring High.
As time seeps away, Hinata and Kageyama find themselves inching closer towards the endline, where the road splits. One towards a future shining bright under the stadium lights. The other across the ocean, to beaches warmed by the sunlight.
Their paths may be different, but they’re bound by the same gravity—like two binary stars orbiting one another.

For a moment, it’s only the evening sound of cicadas. The distant sound of a neighborhood dog barking. The heavy taste of Miyagi’s summer air on his tongue. The thump of Kageyama’s heartbeat, picking up seconds faster than it should.

Kageyama finds himself back in Miyagi after his mother's death, left with the responsibility of dealing with his parents' home, their belongings, and his relationship with them (or lack thereof.) Once he's back, he discovers Hinata is back, too, dealing with his own troubles in the form of a career-ending knee injury. Can the two of them get past their egos enough to sort through their own problems and get back to being Karasuno's freak duo? And will they finally admit to themselves what the rest of the world has known all along?
