Summary
Evan Buckley has a complicated relationship with Christmas. As the son of Santa Clause Christmas was all consuming growing up, but with his parents working every year and then running away when he was 19 he was used to being lonely during the holidays.
The Diaz boys are not. When the 118’s A-shift get assigned the dreaded Christmas Day Shift the year after Shannon dies, Chris wants nothing to do with the entire holiday season. If he can’t celebrate with his family, he won’t celebrate at all.Buck puts his grinchly spirit aside to fit as much Christmas Magic as he can muster into the days leading up to their shift. And if that means he gets to spend more time with his best friend who he not-so-secretly has a crush on, that’s just a bonus. It’s really not too much to suck it up for a little while and embrace his holiday roots for his favorite boys- then he can go right back to pretending Christmas doesn’t exist.
It would be a great plan, if not for the elf popping up random places and badgering him to return to the North Pole and start his training to take over as Santa Clause.
This is not a The Santa Clause story- I just stole Bernard wholesale and let him say Fuck.
