Ilya looks at him again, nodding as he runs his finger along Shane’s bare collarbone. He shifts so that he’s lying beside Shane more than hovering on top of him, but keeps touching him and doesn’t go far.
“You can call me sensitive or whatever, but I don’t think I can do this if you’re just going to ignore me for another six months or however long after we say goodbye tonight.” Shane continues, trying to subtly wipe his wet eyes but of course Ilya notices.
“Hollander-” He reaches up to wipe the tears away, but Shane lightly pushes his hand away and shakes his head.
“I guess I’m not cut out for casual.” He whispers. “Because this has never really felt like nothing to me, and I can’t pretend that it is. You aren’t nothing to me.”

"Yeah." His voice sounds like sandpaper grating against rough metal sheeting; prickly and uncontrolled volume. ""m here."
"You sent me voice note telling me to go fuck myself? Are you drunk?" There isn't concern in Ilya's voice but there is a twinge of something similar. Interest? Perhaps amusement? Shane is unable to decipher the reasoning as to why Ilya Rozanov decided to call him after being sent a recording of horny wrath. He's not sure he wants to understand what is going through Rozanov's head.
Or Shane goes home alone after the Club with Rose, is so horny but isn't able to get himself off and Ilya has to walk him through it.

"It's just cologne. I thought that's what people did before this kind of thing." Shane puts his hands in his pockets and tries to look casual. He is absolutely not going to laugh at the bewildered look on Ilya's face.
"What kind of thing? What are you talking about?"
"You know. Before meeting up like this." He swallows. Squares his shoulders. "I mean, I gave you my room number. I told you I wasn't a chicken."
He can pinpoint the exact moment that it clicks into place for Ilya what is happening. His mouth falls open. "You… it's— Hollander," he exhales. His eyes have gone almost entirely black and his breathing is ragged.
Shane leans back against the door and tilts his chin down, looking up at Ilya through his eyelashes. "This is such a bad idea."
