Prompto is conflicted. Because of something that happened in the past, he doesn't want to be involved with whoever his soulmate is. His main problem is that he's pining over Noctis, and he isn't sure who Noct's soulmate is. At seven years old, Noctis becomes an entrepreneur; naturally, the palace kids hitch along for the ride. He decides to sell lemonade in the halls of the Citadel, and the staff can’t resist such a cute business venture. And when a Niflheim convoy arrives to discuss a ceasefire, neither can the Chancellor.

Cor brings back a killing machine dressed in a boy's soft skin and blonde hair, and he just hopes Regis doesn't wring his neck. But hey, at least Noctis likes his new playmate, because having a cyborg buddy is pretty rad.

“Watch yourself, kid, or you'll be seeing stars."
“Well, guess what?” Noctis had dropped his knees slightly. And with all the fury of a burning star, he slammed his fist up into the Crownsguard’s jaw in a brutal uppercut before either of them had time to blink. Prompto was pretty sure there was a kungfu movie with a similar title. Fist of the — South? West? — Star or something.
“Twinkle twinkle, motherfucker.”
The Hexatheon were powerful gods, anyone would agree; legends and myths were passed through the generations, some written in dusty old texts or whispered to young ears at bedtime. Others existed out of the circle, obscure as they were considering the fervor given to the big Six, but they still existed.
For example, though Bahamut remained their patron god, the Lucians often pay homage to a certain Astral: Noctis, the Stellarian, the Wish Maker. And if the legends were true, Prompto figured it was worth a shot.
He just didn't expect the Astral himself to literally drop into his arms like a freakin’ falling star.

“Get out of my food truck,” says Noctis. He flips another patty while Ignis recovers his bearings.
“Your Highness,” Ignis begins, and wow, Prompto’s gotta give him props for being so calm in the face of Noctis’ unfurling rage. “Please, I would only like—.”
Noctis points the grease-stained spatula at Ignis, and honestly shouldn’t look as threatening as he does in an apron that says kisses for the missus. It was on sale at a thrift store, and he lost the rock-paper-scissors game for the apron that said kisses for the mister. Prompto wears that one proudly.
“Get the fuck out of my food truck,” Noctis repeats. He looks ready to brain Ignis with the uncut potatoes on the counter.
In other words: that fic where noctis and prompto run away from their responsibilities and become the proud owners of a seafood food truck.

The bunny, snug on Noctis’ shoulder, stares back.
Prompto coughs after he loses the staring contest, and edges closer into the room. He sets his camera bag on the couch and crosses his arms over his chest. “What, uh, what do ya have there, Noct? Buddy? Pal? Love of my life?”
Noctis holds up the glossy magazine. As if there is not a living, breathing little animal currently chilling on his left shoulder. “It’s a catalog.”
If Prompto weren’t so in love, he’d commit regicide right then and there.
(or: the fic where noctis and prompto run away like the desperate twenty-somethings they are, live in a shitty apartment they make a home out of, and somehow end up housing half of the world on their couch.)
