'Don't know why you needed a plunger last weekend, but hope you've got the situation handled' didn't seem like a great intro. Although that was the least of her problems. Because the phrase he'd just uttered was the exact one that was on her arm. Groaning, Rey literally let her face fall onto the palm of one hand while silently extending the inside of her arm towards the unknown, angry man."

Her heart twists a bit upon seeing this cat up close. An old scar curves down its little face, barely missing its eye before it slips down to disappear under its chest. Rey doesn’t think she’s ever seen such dark irises on a cat before: chocolate brown, nearly as dark as the pupil in the low light. Like this cat was birthed from the night itself.

Well, he could also kill them all and take his wife from the top of a hill of corpses…but that hardly needed being said. Besides, he was fairly certain that option wouldn’t endear him to his runaway bride. For this to be clean, he needed a fair exchange to occur.
He could see her starting to panic, her eyes darting around the corners of the small, stark room as she searched for an answer. She knew as well as Kylo did that the Resistance would do a lot to get Leia Organa back. Even sacrifice one of their own.

Aside from Kylo Ren—her closest neighbor and toughest competitor—it seems like it's going to be pretty easy.
However, when no adults come to check on her and her radio goes silent, Rey realizes that the game is over. Now, survival is no longer optional. If you lose, you die.

It seems a new reputation proceeds him , reaching far and wide, including all the way out in the lost sands of Jakku. A place he's never heard of nor knew it's existence till now.
"Are all the women in Jakku this small?" He taunts and asks, "why then did they send me a child bride?" His mouth curls around the words, a curious gaze flickering back as he lifts his drink to his mouth.
But the girl snarks, "maybe don't raid a village," she sneers from atop of her ugly camel, "and then demand for it's virgins."OR:

The last time I saw him, he was in the parking lot outside of the stadium where most of the county graduations were held. Pretty sure I made some joke about how I hadn’t bothered with wearing anything under my graduation gown, and he’d looked at me solemnly and told me to go join my friends.
Damn, I’m such an idiot.
“Pretty disappointing that my star pupil can’t even remember the words of her mentor, and worse, she’s passing them off as the ramblings of some uncle who died at least three times in her senior year so she could skip different classes,” he says, opening the screen door and stepping out onto the porch.
I take a step back, note crumpling in my hands.
“I was never your star pupil,” I say.
He smiles. “But a star nonetheless. Rey Niima.”
I swallow and my life seems transfixed to this spot while speeding back in time to my senior year of English class.
“Fuck,” I curse. “Hello, Mister Solo.”
