“Do you think… we can become anything beyond what we’re made of?”
… is the first question posed to the Wanderer, upon reuniting with his new “friend”—the little kid born out of that fictional storybook containing one too many magical energy to be lying around in a random corner of the Akademiya.
The Wanderer laughs. Perhaps such philosophies simply come as a byproduct of creation as opposed to the natural cycle of birth and death—that, for some higher-order reason, they should find themselves being brought to existence, left to grow into the “flesh” that has been given to them without clear instruction as to how. Durin stares at him much like a lost child, like a duck imprinting upon the hen—like his word will come to define his world.
“You were made of ink—printed words, painted shapes,” is all he said, before turning around, sleeves and ribbons swaying gracefully under the benediction of the wind.
Inhuman humans, each somewhere along their journeys for the meaning of existence.

That statement, for reasons he didn’t quite understand, brought a twinge to Neuvillette’s chest.
“...a marriage.” he recited in disbelief.Neuvillette was careful to keep his feelings in check so that nature didn’t mirror what was inside his chest. He intended the early evening sky to be as radiant as possible, for the orange glow of the setting sun complemented Navia’s blonde hair, its rays glistened off the complexion of her face, as the universe converged in her vibrant blue eyes.
On this particular day, Neuvillette had a reason not to reflect his feelings carelessly towards the sky, for rain would make somebody feel unhappy, and he didn’t want to be the source of her sorrow.

Ever since they’ve stayed in Hotel Debord, Collei has been coming back with a starstruck look in her eyes. Concerned, Tighnari and Cyno try prying in order to see what’s wrong with her. They’ve ranged from asking her subtly to backing out almost immediately the moment she shows any signs of not wanting to tell. They watch from afar as she leaves the hotel lobby once again, sighing and discussing her reasons as to why she’s been leaving all day now.
“Oh, I’ve seen that look before.” A passerby Fontainian, Navia, tells the local Sumerians. She’s seen this look everywhere in the nation. “She’s in love!”
“... Uh-- excuse me?”

Summary
Albedo blinks back tears he cannot shed. He still doesn't understand. "Did I fail?”

Her hands, the very same hands that once shaped him from a formless clump of coagulated chalk, cradle his face.

Albedo finally looks up at an impossibly sad face.
"Live."
The corruption finally comes for Albedo. But instead of bringing about the homunculus' end, Albedo's friends and family join him on a desperate mission that involves the slumbering dragon Durin, Fatui Harbingers, and a revelation his heart may not be ready to accept.
