“Are you sure you’re okay?” He asks, once they’re both sitting against the headboard side by side.Ellie nods, “I’m alright Der, are you okay?” She asks back, glancing up at him. Derek stares down at his fidgeting fingers, tapping in a pattern he knows he picked up from Spencer.
“Yeah, yeah, just, nightmares, you know?”

She nods for him to continue. “I did crash a car when I was sixteen, but those-“ he gestures to his back “-aren’t from it.” He takes a deep breath and drops his eyes to his hands. “The car I crashed was my father’s.”Ellie doesn’t know what comes over her, but she finds herself reaching over and taking his hand, squeezing it tightly. “He, uh, he used to drink, a lot” Aaron bites on his lower lip and Ellie swipes her thumb gently across his knuckles. “He wasn’t a good man to begin with, but it was worse when he drank.”

Summary
Bucky Barnes has been alone since he left HYDRA, well, not alone per se, but alone enough. He doesn't really plan on changing it. With the Flagsmashers running rampant, and his memories barely subsiding long enough for him to sleep, now is not the time for him to get involved. Of course, life rarely goes the way we plan.
Eleanor Bridges is really, honestly not looking for anything, but if it happens to find her, she's not one to complain. After all, life has a funny way of working out for her. When The Bucky Barnes quite literally runs into her one afternoon, she tries to take it in stride, after all, everything happens for a reason, and if that reason is so she spends time with the man once called The Winter Soldier, well, it's not really an issue now is it?
The two of them make quite the pair, one stoic the other wearing their heart on their sleeve. But somehow, it just might work out for the best, in the best way possible.
After all, everyone deserves a happy ending.
(AKA, Bucky gets a girlfriend during TFATWS, and she's awesome)

Bambi, the adoptive daughter of Tony Stark, and unofficial child of The Avengers, is struggling with the death of her father figure, along with the death of her best friend and the loss of the other father figure in her life. When it gets too hard to deal with, she calls the only person she knows she can count on.
“What’re you doin up late doll, dontcha have a team t’be runnin?” He’s fondly smiling down at his half empty beer, waiting for a quick quip back. When he doesn’t get one right away his smile wavers, and when he hears the shuddering breath and soft sniffle it falls completely off of his face. “Darlin’ what’s wrong?”
