Summary
Natasha has moved on. That’s what she tells herself. Her life in the Red Room is in the past and completely locked out of her mind.
She’s an Avenger now.
Finally, she has the opportunity to make up for her past actions and remove the red from her ledger. She should be happy right? She has friends. She lives in a grand tower in the middle of New York. She’s in a relationship with a genius scientist.
Yet her mind wanders to what could have been and when a ghost from her past reappears… she realises letting go of her past is a lot harder than it looks.

AN: In this fic, Natasha is a lot older than she is in the mcu. Let’s just say she was born at a similar time to Bucky and Steve but was still raised in the Red Room and didn’t escape until Clint got her out.

‘The tower was quieter than usual, probably because the Avengers were exhausted from their latest mission but it's helped to create a sense of calmness in the tower. Yet the Avengers continue to roam the halls of the tower, Tony carrying a new cup of coffee to his lab, Thor searching for the last box of pop tarts in the kitchen and Clint crawling through the vents of the tower in order to find his own peace. Yet most importantly in a room found on the top floor of the tower there was Bucky and Natasha who were finally settling in for the night.’
