Dean smiled, and hesitated at the door. He opened his mouth, but nothing came out, just like last week. Castiel watched him expectantly, but without judgement, ever patient.
“I… thanks, Cas,” Dean managed, hoping to convey how he felt. Because somehow, he felt that something happened this time, something clicked.
Castiel smiled, actually smiled with his eyes and mouth and Dean almost swooned like a Victorian lady.
Fuck he’s so handsome.
“Any time, Dean. My door is always open.”
Dean nodded and hurried away. He hoped he didn't seem rude by it. His heart thudded in his chest and he didn't even stop by to say goodbye to Alice.
What the hell is happening to me?This is about Dean going to therapy and Cas teaching him chess, because what Dean really needs is a friend he can rely on (and maybe thats what Cas needs too). But Dean feels different around Cas, maybe it was because of the way he listened and looked like he cared, maybe it was the coffee Cas always seemed to get right. Either way, Castiel was one of Deans best… was Deans favorite… Dean… well he really liked his therapist, ok? It’s normal to like your therapist!!

Summary

Summary
Just like almost everything else in his life, Arnold J. Rimmer has a complex about death; specifically the one he suffered three million years ago. When presented with the option of either keeping the last man alive sane or blinking out of existence never to be seen again, the choice is - obviously - relatively simple.
Unfortunately for Rimmer, the last man alive happens to be a complete and total gimp, and he has his work cut out for him.
This is a semi-anthology(?) series which follows the highs and lows of Rimmer and Lister's relationship from Series I to XII. While the holographic version of Rimmer throws himself head-first into his new role as the custodian of Lister's sanity, he must also grapple with his identity as a simulated approximation of a dead man. In the meantime, Lister must come to terms with the disturbing fact that his annoying bunkmate is slowly but surely growing on him.
