Whumptober 2023 Day 16: Gurney/Flatline/Don’t go where I can’t follow
His knee buckles, and he crashes down onto the roots, legs sliding in the dirt. The impact jolts him and sudden agony weeps from him, like a hot poker is being shoved between his ribs and he pushes his palm into the pain, withering and trying to soothe it. Confusion stuffs his mind and spills from his ears as the world dips underwater. Sparks cloud his vision, and he cannot tell if it’s from the stars and the moon or something else entirely.
“Sammy!”
Legs crash down beside him and pressure is shoved against his side, more warmth soaking in his shirt, and torment grips his skin and he cries out with a choked voice. Something slips down his cheeks. Dark eyes cut into the woods.
“Hang on Sam just hang on,” Dean rambles, quick and blurred and Sam tilts to the side, temple hitting dirt and jutting roots and Dean shouts. “Dad! Call an ambulance!”
Or
A hunt goes haywire, and Sam goes down in the dead of night with Dean by his side. Oh, how he hates hunting and wishes his life was normal.
