She’s seen those old flames.
She’s seen them in their eyes.
And it’s been burning, so bright and warm. So tenacious and unending, unbending to anything that extinguishes those majestic flames. She’s seen those flames that can’t hide, that never wavers to flare. She’s seen those flames before, it’s hard to miss them. It’s hard when it’s all she sees of them.
It’s not the flames imprinted on his magnificent frame, yet those flames are brilliant too. But it’s the fire that does not perish, for however long they missed each other. For however long those eyes stare wonderfully at one another.
She’s seen those old flames. And they are beautiful.
Where their lives intertwine long before the day Cade Yeager visits the theatre and stares at a run-down truck.
