The crowd loudly applauded and hooted, but Mike was stuck there giggling to himself for some reason, thinking 'Heh, Cleradin. Kind of sounds like Cleric and Paladin mixed together.'
He almost didn't notice the strange melody playing through the room that reminded him of the music they play in ice-cream vans. Mike almost shuddered, recalling the few months he'd spent working at Scoops Ahoy for some extra cash while working on his novel series, having moved back to Hawkins after graduating.

"You have nothing to be upset about, Michael." He filled Mike's name with venom. And it worked, burning it's way through his veins.
"I have everything to be mad about!" He shoved against Will's wrists while still holding them, pushing them both back a couple steps towards the bed. "You did this, Will. You're the one that makes me so fucking...so fucking..." Mike blinked, looking for the right word. And then he found it. "Crazy."OR
The Party meet up at a random teen's Graduation Party a year after their own. Will has been withdrawing from Mike lately, and Mike wants to use the gathering as an opportunity to talk. And they do, it just doesn't go exactly as he'd expected.

Mike was wandering alone through Tina Turnbow's 'Class of '91' Graduation party, waiting for the rest of the group to arrive, when he could've sworn he saw the shape of someone familiar-someone who he'd been missing so much that it hurt.

Will and Mike are going to separate colleges in nearby towns after leaving Hawkins - Will is working part-time at a coffee shop near his campus and occasionally takes on art commissions for extra cash on the side, while Mike works part-time writing articles for his local newspaper while also working on his novel, 'Stranger Things in Hawkins.'
After not seeing each other for a year they started planning to visit each other, then Will's roommate moved out and Mike's landlord wanted to raise the rent at the next lease renewal, so they planned for Mike to move in with Will instead. -

Will was struggling to sleep after his emotional confession, and being filled with dread at the possible outcomes of the upcoming fight.
Mike has his own reasons for not being able to sleep, leading to further confessions from the both of them.
