There he was. Lying on the floor looking up at him through fogged-over, impossibly sad eyes. They looked every bit as exhausted as they did all those months ago, he remembered the way Sangwoo looked up at him that night, and how stupid he'd been—how fucking stupid—to let himself believe, even for a second, that there'd ever be a world where they'd walk out of that place hand in hand. That maybe, just maybe, Sangwoo would reach for him instead of the knife. That Gihun, wretched, worthless thing that he was, had done enough to earn Sangwoo's life instead of his death. He had been stupid enough to bet Sangwoo’s survival on that belief.
Gihun wasn't quite so stupid anymore.

Gi-hun's mouth clicked shut.
Detective Hwang In-ho was stuck, this case isn't moving forward and bodies are piling up. One body–every three months.
And the department's name for the killer–Deadly Sinner–makes him wanna slam his head against the wall or laugh till he cries.
And then there's Seong Gi-hun, the mechanic he met once because his tire got punctured, who won't leave him alone. Somehow he finds himself meeting Gi-hun everywhere. And the worst part, he can't stop himself from interacting with him.
So when the next body is found in Gi-hun's shop instead of the usual parking lots, he becomes even more tangled with the man.
