Summary
Ambitious, cunning, prideful, and self-preserving were all traits her friends would have used to describe Hermione Granger. Or they would have, if they weren't traits associated with Slytherin house.
Hermione looks back on her life and when she chose, or should have chosen, her Slytherin traits over those valued by Gryffindor. She thinks of how her extreme self-preservation has helped her, and more importantly Harry, through school and the war. And she knows self-preservation comes in many forms and that she will have to protect herself any way she can, one more time.

Summary
When a pandemic of Runespoor Fever sweeps through the wizarding world at the end of 2003, leaving a full quarter of its victims infertile, the International Confederation of Wizards takes drastic action. A marriage and reproductive law is enacted, throwing the wizarding world into upheaval.
Lightly inspired by the 1989 film The War of the Roses, (but without the animal death,) and our own recent pandemic.
She was wearing one of her neat, buttoned-up outfits as always; brown herringbone trousers and a silky cream blouse that covered her from throat to wrist, her hair braided around her head but not quite as neat as usual. He stopped several feet from her and frowned. “Why do you smell of smoke, Granger?”
“Does it really matter, Malfoy?” She skewered him with a glare, arms folding across her chest. “Perhaps I took up smoking.”
“And did you?”
She gave him an ‘are you mad?’ look. “No, I burnt down my office,” she said exasperatedly, as if it should’ve been obvious, and he tried to refrain from giving her an ‘are you mad?’ look in return.

Summary
“I wanted dinner. With someone who wouldn’t— who doesn’t—”
“Talk?” he offered.
She huffed a laugh. “Think. Much. Loudly. In my vicinity.”
A pause, wry and weightless. “I can be remarkably stupid on request.”

Hermione Granger’s latest experiment in the Department of Mysteries goes, technically speaking, catastrophically tits-up. The result? She can suddenly hear everyone’s thoughts. It’s a nightmare.
Except Draco Malfoy’s.
Around him, the world goes silent — blissfully, impossibly silent.
So she clings to him for relief; he pretends he’s not quietly losing his mind over her; the Brains in jars judge them both; and feelings start happening without anyone’s permission.
Magical neuroscience, catastrophic intimacy, and one very besotted Auror who never stood a chance. -

Summary
On record, Hermione Granger was an overworked and underpaid attorney for the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, taking mostly cases involving the mistreatment and abuse of magical creatures. Her ten, sometimes twelve hour days started promptly at 7:30 am, her brisk walk across the Ministry atrium in her sensible work heels blissfully quiet before the morning rush of witches and wizards turned the cavernous space into chaos.
Off record, however, was a different story entirely.
Leave it to Draco Malfoy to barge in and tip the scales on the precarious balance she has on her life.
[Or: Hermione Granger, disappointed and disheartened by the sluggish and antiquated way the Ministry of Magic handles Death Eaters and sympathizers, takes matters into her own hands. Draco Malfoy, never one to mind his own business, inserts himself into her narrative.]

Summary
Draco Malfoy is the Quidditch League's most controversial Chaser. Fast, ruthless, and untouchable on the field. Off the field, though? A walking scandal. He’s got a penchant for illegal broom-racing, starting brawls, and partying like the end is nigh. Now, with sponsors threatening to pull out and the League ideating his suspension, his team’s legacy is circling the drain. The solution? PR rehab. Ministry-backed and painfully public.
Enter: Hermione Granger. She’s the Ministry’s Saint Swot and the face of the Magical Community Unity Initiative, a campaign to promote post-war healing through charity, outreach, and celebrity involvement. For maximum impact (and maximum headache), she has to work with none other than notorious bad boy Draco Malfoy aka Malfoy the Menace.
For six long months, they’re stuck together doing programmes, galas, photoshoots, tense interviews, and a joint weekly column in The Daily Prophet. Cue the bickering, untimely erections, and locker room confrontations. It’s bad boy meets good girl. It’s ripe with sexual tension. It’s the cliché you love.

Summary
“Hermione, I don’t think Malfoy has been teasing or insulting you. I think…” Ginny rolled her tongue in her mouth, struggling to speak the next words: “I think he was trying to court you.”
“What? No!"
-
Hermione is determined to smile through Malfoy’s blatant taunting without biting his head off.
Draco is delighted that Hermione responds well to his courtship instead of biting his head off.
