Or a modern AU based off of Much Ado About Nothing in which Enjolras and Grantaire are Beatrice and Benedick, Cosette and Marius are Hero and Claudio, and the Amis can't help but meddle in everyone's business.

Grantaire’s first flower appears when he is two years old. It’s late, for a First Bloom, considering some children are born with their First already etched above their hearts, but Grantaire’s parents are warm and loving and wait to see what sort of child they have born unto the world.
His First Bloom, when it comes, is vibrant patch of yellow carnations. He is too young to know what it means, and his parents don’t tell him, just—withdraw, and a much smaller patch of yellow carnations appears on his mother’s ankle.

Summary
Someone tries to kill Enjolras. Grantaire dies to save him.
The guilt Enjolras feels is unlike anything he had ever felt before. He had never been very close to Grantaire, or at least not the same type of close he was with the other Amis. And yet, the resident cynic's loss is more unbearable than Enjolras would have ever imagined. He was supposed to protect his people. He was supposed to protect his friends.
But then one day he wakes up, and Grantaire is alive. Which was supposed to be a great, marvellous thing, really, only if it wasn't for the countdown clock glued to Enjolras' nightstand.

After Enjolras returns from a ten-year stay in America for business, he's expected everything in Paris to have waited for him-but nothing has. All of his friends have moved on with their lives, especially Grantaire. The former drunk is now working two jobs, has given up alcohol for good-and even has a six-year-old daughter. Maddie is sassy and undeniably Grantaire's daughter-and Enjolras suddenly wants nothing more than to be a part of the life they share. Grantaire is on board, of course, having been in love with Enjolras for years...but Maddie isn't. The little girl is horribly jealous, but she might just change her mind when she realizes what a good guy Enjolras is...

"Never Have I Ever" is a very simple game with a very simple purpose: to get very drunk while finding out things about your friends' sexual proclivities that, in the sober light of morning, you will wish you had gone on not knowing. It is not for guilt-tripping people about their poor attendance at your social justice rallies, or playing match-maker, or finding out everyone's thoughts about life and death. And it is DEFINITELY not for staging group interventions about your one friend's drinking habits/self-esteem issues.
Now if only someone would explain this to Grantaire's friends.
