The bickering continues. Nami takes a sip of her drink, lips curling in amusement. They really are naive. And Nami can’t help but take advantage of the naive: especially when there’s beli to be made.
“I think we should make this interesting,” Nami announces. “Since you guys can’t agree, let’s have a friendly bet. Everyone puts in and whoever’s right gets the pot.” All of them glance around at each other before back at Nami. She smiles at them. “If you’re going to fight about it, at least make it interesting.”(or, Luffy and Zoro have been married for years. But, with all that beli on the line, Nami isn't about to tell the rest of their nakama that)

Blood squelches. Vivi’s chest heaves, breath trembling as her captain’s body falls to the ground, staining the dying green grass a crimson red. Her vision blurs beneath tears.
Zoro’s gaze moves to her as he cleans Luffy’s blood from his white blade. Vivi stares back, unable to move her feet or catch her breath. The rest of their crew lays around them, still and bloody from their variety of cuts and stab wounds.
“Fate is fate,” Zoro tells her, voice a low growl and his eye narrowed.

Vivi helps Zoro sit down, his left leg bleeding heavily at the ankle. Luffy and Usopp lay on the grass, as though the entire island isn't burning down around them, laughing with the giants. Her gaze turns to Sanji - the only one she thought responsible enough to be in charge while she worked on her maps.
"You'd better have a good explanation for this."
"I have three," he replies smoothly, soot stained cheeks crinkling in a smart-ass grin. "I'll let you choose your favorite."Or
(a parallel universe fic where Luffy accidentally finds an exiled princess, a talking reindeer, and a rebellion waiting for a hero. Which kind of sucks, because Luffy is a pirate, not a hero. But, Vivi seems nice enough to earn the wrong reputation for.)

“Zoro!” Nami screams. “Get over here! You self-sacrificing dumbass!”
That’s not what this is about. Zoro has no intentions of self-sacrificing. Sure, he doesn’t want to watch his nakama hurt - Zoro never wants to see his nakama hurt. But, this is more than that. There’s only one person on this crew that can stand against Luffy and it sure as hell isn’t Nami. Zoro is the only one who would survive. And when Luffy wakes up again - when whatever this clears out of him - he needs his nakama to be alive. Knowing he hurt Zoro will be bad enough. Knowing he’s the reason one of his nakama died is something Luffy would never come back from.
