He's got a place to do good, help keeping himself out of the tabloids, and he gets to work with the two people on Earth he loves the most. Sure, he might be hopelessly pining over Phil Coulson and terrified that Phil will find out his secret, but it's not like Phil's likely to guess; after all, everyone knows vampires don't exist.

Summary
Like most things in Phil Coulson’s undead life, everything started with a case. An unusual case, but then Phil didn’t tend to find normal happened much at two a.m. in the New York City morgue.

Phil is just a vampire trying to live his life as a night-shift ME, but when he meets Detective Clint Barton, his life takes a turn for the interesting. As Phil tries to help solve his cases and uncovers what looks like a conspiracy, he draws closer to the intelligent and intriguing detective, which threatens both the secrets Phil is trying to keep, and his heart.

I wish, Clint thought, falling back against the couch. “No. I don’t know, Nat. There’s just—” He glanced away; this was the part he had no idea how to explain. “—something about him.” He gave Natasha a sideways look, smirking slightly. “He is really hot.”
Natasha’s face was the epitome of ‘I can’t believe I gave you eternal life.’ “He wants to kill you.”
“Well, we all gotta go sometime,” Clint shrugged.
“No, we don’t. That’s the whole point of immortality. You don’t fucking die, you idiot.”
Clint is a vampire with a string of bodies in his past. Phil is human, and an agent of SHIELD, the Supernatural Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics division, an organization devoted to handling paranormal and superhuman threats to global society.Clearly, they’re perfect for each other.
