Summary
The Thunderbolts knew about Sam, in a way. Somewhat. They knew, of course, that he and Bucky were friends, but not of their relationship. They knew that things had been complicated, with the argument over the Avengers title.
Suffice to say, his teammates did not know that whenever Bucky left the tower, it was either to drive four hours to D.C. or to return to his (and Sam’s, at this point) Brooklyn apartment: the apartment that had two toothbrushes on the bathroom counter, an I LOVE CAPTAIN AMERICA mug in the kitchen sink, and a frankly impressive collection of vintage R&B vinyls.
And Bucky wanted to keep it that way.

So when he wants to see Zanka laughing his head off without a care in the world, he decides the new toxin he's come across is perfect for their next fight.
But that's not exactly how it happens. Because Jabber Wonger is a scientist that doesn't like to follow all the rules.
And when the consequence of that ends up being him having to trip sit a very clingy, overly affectionate Zanka?
Well, he's not gonna regret it now.

On entering, she was immediately welcomed by the dimly lit, moody atmosphere of the bar, the air carrying the low murmur of music from ear to ear, and a relaxed crowd of people — the atmosphere reflecting her own despondency.
While finally having a moment to herself and her fleeting thoughts, she noticed that everything around her seemed to be normal— too normal. That's when the door of the bar banged open loudly, with a familiar woman entering. Zanka's heart practically leapt out of her chest and down to her ass when she saw who it really was. Jabber Wonger.
Her night took a wild turn as she spent her time cordially with the Raider, or dare I say... way too affectionately perhaps?
