Summary
When Lance causes Keith to be seriously injured in battle, he takes it upon himself to be the one who gets Keith to the infirmary. During the short trip, the two reveal things about themselves unknown to anyone else on the ship. Keith ends up in a healing pod for days, leaving Lance to wrestle with guilt, loneliness, and some other, more pleasant emotions. Cue Hunk and Pidge, ready to be of assistance (or not) during those stressful days.

"You shouldn't be here Lance. Those Galra will be back any second now." Keith grunted and shook his head.
Lance ignored him. "Can you walk?" He asked.
Keith stared at Lance defiantly. Why was he being so stubborn?
"No." His tone sounded defeated and he stared at the ground for a moment before continuing, as if he didn't want to believe what he was saying. "I- I can't feel my legs."
"What..?"

Summary
Lance should've let Keith lead.
He should've been behind the other boy, like he usually was, except this time Keith had fallen behind due to an injury on his leg.
Lance turned around when they got to the airlock his lion was waiting at- only to come face to face with an image he never wanted to see.
He stepped forward, to reach for Keith as the large Galra grabbed his arm- but Keith's boot was suddenly at his chest and he was pushed out into space, where his Lion immediately picked him up.
Lance should've let Keith lead.

Keith’s breath caught.
It was that look again. Lance’s eyes held the type of promise only seen in B-rated romance movies— and yet it didn’t look cheesy on him. If anything, Lance looked intense— like he was so focused on Keith that he wouldn’t even notice if the world burned down around them.
