The night Stede finally took Ed as a mate was chock-full of overwhelming emotions. He'd always loved a bit of ceremony, and it seemed to perfectly represent so many fresh starts for them as lovers, partners, co-captains... It was even like a second chance at Stede's horrible wedding night, though as a beta Mary had of course been bondless.
The only fly in the ointment was, as ever, Izzy Hands.
True, there is no written guide Stede could reference that says the man's bond with his Alpha should break once the man was no longer his Alpha, but it was obvious and simply in poor taste to hang about, no matter how unbothered Ed seemed to be by the continued attentions.
Still, Stede is certain the inevitable will come to pass as the days finalize the changes sweeping over Ed as his new dynamic and bond take their rightful place. It's only a matter of time.
The one where Stede consensually bitches Ed, but Ed is already in a bonded Alpha-Omega pair with Izzy.
