Granted, it took all of ten seconds, and has the stability of a building during an earthquake, but it is a plan. He will just have to date someone, or make people think that he is, to get everyone to back off. It’s perfect, simple, and completely reasonable, so what could possibly go wrong?
Meanwhile, there is something off about Dongsik’s over-enthusiastic partner in crime. Mainly the fact that he’s, well, over-enthusiastic, never once stating why he agreed to take part in the arrangement. What does he get out of it?

The sound of Mike’s voice, the desperate, sickening whimper, was enough for Harvey’s mouth to snap shut with an audible clack. He would know Mike in a dark room by his breaths alone, he was sure; he’d heard his name uttered from those lips in all manners of emotion, had imagined his name whispered from those lips more times than he cared to admit. But this certainly wasn’t that, and in no scenario, imagined or otherwise, had Mike’s voice sounded so broken. He detested the way his name was slurred over Mike’s tongue, the ‘e’ elongated and sounding like it took much more energy than it ever should have to force out the syllable.
