Moiraine gives some brief explanation of her reasoning each time - that feels like an important part of this rite for both of them. And it makes her heart glow to see the love and appreciation increase on Siuan's face each time she does. Tattoos mean so very much to Tairens and there is something in her that's desperate to make explicit just how much she's thought this through and the significance she also places on each location. How very seriously she takes the act of having their love marked permanently on her body.

They are still new to this, with each other, and it’s sometimes a little clumsy; a slightly wrong angle or a tooth in an awkward place or one (occasionally both) of them ending up breathless in a way that is equally delicious and frustrating. Not tonight though. Tonight Siuan kisses her softly and long, just teasing Moiraine's top lip with her own bottom one until she feels almost dizzy with the pleasure of it.
