Peter Parker thinks he has everything figured out. Where he can eat, sleep and make a little bit of money. What he needs to do in order to continue attending Midtown High and being Queen’s friendly neighborhood Spider-man. How to keep his entire situation under wraps and most importantly, who he can trust.
Then, along comes Tony Stark with an offer he can’t refuse. The plan is to remain professional, to not get too close to the Stark-Rogers’ family. Not getting comfortable means not slipping up and saying anything that he can’t take back.
...but for Peter- things rarely go as planned...

Peter Parker thought he was nothing special. Yes, he was the infamous Spider-Man that swung around queens, but he wasn't special. That's what he thought.
Peter Parker was loosing everyone. His parents in a plane crash, Ben after the spider bite, and now May. Thrust into foster care, he was no choice but to keep the Spider-Manning to a minimum. That being said, Peter has more time to focus on school. He graduates from high school early. He gets into MIT at 16 years old. He gets noticed by one Tony Stark while doing so.
Basically, an AU where Tony never recruited Peter for Civil War, and he and Steve talked it out.
An AU where, to Tony, Peter really is, just an intern.

"Okay, who the hell—" Tony gave up and lifted a hand above his eyes, blocking the light to see the crowd better. His eyes scanned each person's face, trying to locate the shit that kept interrupting his speech, and followed everyone's gazes to the ceiling. He froze as his eyes fell on a red and blue clad vigilante sitting in the beams.
Spider-Man looped his legs around the beam he was on and swung to hang upside down. Cupping his gloved hands around his mouth, he shouted, "Tell a joke!"

OR: The Accords dehumanize and discriminate against enhanced individuals. Spider-Man isn’t very happy about this. (Spider-Man happens to also be a foster kid who is in dire need of a mentor.)

The man had invented time travel to bring back the missing half of the population, and that included Peter. At first, he was grateful to have more time with May and to get to grow up and all that, but once the initial shock wore off, the realities of life were catching up with him and he was beginning to question whether this had been a good thing after all.
