Despite the circumstances, the pair fall deeply in love and actually start to plan for a future after the war, but then Severus is killed. Six years later, as Hermione prepares to marry Ron, she is shocked to learn that Severus is still alive and living somewhere in Germany. She is determined to find him and find out if what they shared was real.
*Severus was never in love with Lily. They were actually twins that were given up for adoption to keep their parentage a secret.
