If you ask Shane Hollander, he'll tell you the bar's highball glasses are committing a war crime against sparkling water, your outfit has at least three structural flaws, and no, he is NOT blushing, it's just warm in here, and no, he was NOT staring at the new bartender through the gap in the ficus leaves, he was RESTING HIS EYES, and also, for the record, he doesn't care that the bartender has hazel eyes the color of warm stone in late-afternoon light or that his hands can untangle Shane's knotted fingers like they were made for exactly that purpose. He's a particularly opinionated artist with a sunset to paint. He doesn't have time for this. (He makes so much time for this.)
A neurodivergent artist with the social grace of a startled deer + a bartender with the patience of a saint + a best friend who lives for drama = a love story told in fumbled words, shared sunsets, and the quiet understanding that sometimes the most profound conversations happen without speaking a word.

This is the story of Ilya Rozanov as seen through the eyes of Svetlana Vetrova. From the moment they meet as small children until he finally finds the happiness he deserves. Exploring the tragedy and family dynamics that make Ilya Rozanov into who he is.
One of the things I enjoyed the most about this wonderful show is how it gave us such rich characters without spelling out their backstories in every single detail. It feels authentic and yet leaves so much open for interpretation, particularly when it comes to Ilya's family and life before the start of the show. In the first few chapters I explore my version of his background (as told through Svetlana's POV), while the last one covers "Jane" era.

Summary
Shane Hollander meets Ilya Rozanov on his twenty-fourth birthday at The Ice Palace, the gay club where Ilya works as a bartender. Shane has never been to a gay club before, and never been with a man before. He's shocked that it's seemingly this easy to pick up a shirtless, Russian bartender, with the most beautiful lips he's ever seen. That was the point of coming to the club, as a test of his homosexuality, but Shane leaves, alone, unsure as to whether he passed or failed.

Summary
Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov are together, but almost no one knows. Their relationship exists in stolen moments, long distances, and quiet promises, hidden from the world that views them as rivals.

Summary
It's the first Ottawa vs Montreal game since Shane signed on with the Centaurs. Tensions are boiling over and it's ramping up to be an intense and brutal game.
The Centaurs have a teammate to protect on the ice. Ilya has a husband to worry about. And Shane has something to prove to the old team that dropped him like he was nothing.
When a hit is taken too far, no one can predict just how wrong things can go.
