The allure of visiting a haunted lake, and spending the entire summer there to uncover all of the mysteries that may be hidden has her as excited as one can imagine.
What she isn't expecting, is having to have a colorful, energetic, golden retriever of a person, as a cabin mate.

The quiet has been replaced.
Galinda Upland is not a fan of quiet, and so it makes her feel so much better in the days after her unfortunate, or fortunate, incident that the quietest quiet dissipates almost entirely.
Elphaba gently encourages her to play music while they get ready in the morning.

Galinda Upland does not like the quiet.
It's not that she particularly enjoys cacophony. It's simply that her mind tends to function best when there is always background noise surrounding her.
The noise helps her regulate.

Maybe she just didn't know. Maybe. Maybe Elphaba just didn't know that Galinda is willing and able to help her. Always. Elphaba simply didn't know she would do anything to help her, in any way that she can. In fact, she would also help her in ways she can't, just to prove how much she can help.
