But Sam is looking at him with lidded eyes and a soft little smile on his lips. It feels private. Like a smile that’s been saved just for him, out of all the people in the world Sam could smile at like that. Feels like that moment in the bar when their eyes met and it was just the two of them, like the rest of the world fell away and Sam was the only thing that mattered. And it’s – Bucky should be terrified. Probably is terrified, if he stops and thinks about it. But it’s just Sam. Just the person Bucky cares about most in the world.
Sam’s gaze flickers down. It takes Bucky a second to realize – oh, he’s staring at my lips – and then a dizzying rush of heat floods through him. Chasing the origins of a possible tear between universes, Mobius and Loki have to go to a luxury hotel that is used as a front for organized crime. As the hotel is closed for a couples retreat, the only way to stay there is by pretending they're married. However, the pretense grows too close to reality, threatening to reveal the secret feelings they have for each other.

Sam stares at him with a wide smile.
“Lemme try, then” Bucky blurts out. He regrets it as soon as he speaks, but it’s too late to take it back.
Sam looks intently at him, the ghost of that smile is still on his face, though his eyes get a bit wider in surprise. “What. You want to wine and dine me?”
ORSam gets drunk and reveals he knows Bucky has a crush on him. Bucky decides to woo him to prove a point. Things happen ;)

The Asset doesn’t know why it is experiencing malfunction. What it does know is this:
1. Main Objective: Terminate Captain America. Status: All protocols breached. Mission

2. The Asset is in considerable pain: Right shoulder dislocated with brute force.

A couple months after the Flag Smashers mission, Bucky's now answering Sam's calls and texts (fostering relationships, Doc!). One call, in particular, finds Bucky returning to Delacroix for what's possibly his most daunting mission yet: helping Sam fix up a run-down, piece-of-shit foreclosure he recently purchased. Bucky doesn't know the first thing about real estate or confronting his feelings but he does know how to move heavy things, so...that's something.
